Thank You Notes Brief History

Why send a thank you note?. Thank you notes were being sent to friends, family and business associates as early as the early 1400's and said to be used even before that time. The practice of writing a thank you note and having it hand delivered was popular during this century. Sending personal cards was also considered an important social expression during this century. In 1856 a German immigrant Pouis Prang brought greeting cards and notes to America and they became a popular expression for holidays, birthdays and thank you notes. It was also commonplace for many people to purchase cards created by well known artists during earlier centuries. Send a personal thank you note today and reap the benefits. People save handwritten notes and often look at them later.
