Eleven Ways to Show Kindness Daily

Updated on May 14, 2013

Show Kindness Daily

I have sometimes felt that maybe I don't do enough to help our world. I have not volunteered my time to charities nor given quantities of money to any specific group. I have had my share of problems and challenges like everyone else. I have not always been tolerant of other people. I have become angry and shown my feelings. I have been instrumental in breaking up personal friendships. I have refused to cook dinner...Just kidding on that one. However what I do on a regular basis is try to be kind to people in any way that I can. And I always give money to the Salvation Army bell ringers.

Billy Buc has offered a big challenge for random acts of kindness for an entire year. You must be a kind and good person 365 times. Hopefully twice in one day means you can skip a day. A little humor here, but it is serious business. People today are often rude and uncaring and give little concern to other's feelings. I am here to show you some really simple acts of kindness you can do almost everyday without even thinking.

Always Smile

Smile Often

Smiling at people requires no thinking. Smile at someone who needs a smile. Smile at someone who is frowning and watch what happens--they may smile in return. You can do this many times each day. I smile at everyone in the grocery store or any store for that matter. Next time at the grocery store and you see the checker looking harassed. give a big smile to make her feel everything is okay. Can you imagine if everyone would smile, we would certainly have a happy world.

Be Generous While Driving

Save yourself some aggravation and raising your blood pressure by not getting upset with careless drivers. If someone wants to pull in front of you let him. Drive carefully and watch the road without texting or talking on the cell phone. Be a courteous driver all the time. We would cut down on accidents if everyone would follow this advice. And also lower blood pressure. What does it matter if you get somewhere five minutes later. Try not to miss a plane. Just leave your house earlier if you are in a big hurry. Giving yourself extra time will make you and all your road mates very happy.

Call a Friend who has been having problems

During your busy day you may not want to listen to other's problems. If you are a good friend and have someone close to you who is dealing with some major challenges, make the call. Just listen to the friend, because more than likely he or she would just like to vent.

Help a Friend Clean their house or Work on A project

Volunteer to help someone clean a garage or storage room. I would have loved some help when cleaning my workroom and just to talk with. If you have a friend who is complaining about a dirty house and doesn't want to clean, just go over and help. Don't take no for an answer. You can put on the music, dance around and get in some good friendly gossip.

Tell someone you love them

Share some loving spirit. Call a family member or dear friend and tell them you are calling just to say. " I love you." Or get up out of your chair, go in the other room and share your loving feelings.

A bow makes a gift

Buy a small present

Receiving a gift is always so much fun, but giving one is even more rewarding. If you give someone a mug you are just giving the person a mug. If you wrap the mug and put some candy in the mug you create a gift.Deliver the gift to someone who needs some cheering up. No matter what you give always call it a gift and that person will feel like a million dollars.

A soothing massage

A Massage Gift Certificate

You must have a friend or family member who has been stressed out lately. Deliver or send a gift certificate for a soothing massage. Wouldn't you like to receive one? I would love to receive this and how thought it is.

A Cooked Meal for a Friend

Take a meal over to a Friend's House

Maybe you know someone who lives alone and rarely cooks. Call the person and tell them you made too much food and want to bring some of the glorious leftovers to their house. A busy person or one who is alone who doesn't have to cook dinner will be delighted. This act of kindness is especially appreciated during the holidays.

Make That Call

Make the Difficult Phone Call

You have had a disagreement with a friend and are still feeling a little angry. Make the call and work things out. You both will feel better about the issue and you will save a friendship. If you are not sure of the person's reaction, start with an email.

Say thank you or just thinking about you

Send A Personal Thank You Note

Send a personal thank you note even to tell someone you appreciate them. You can just say you were thinking of them. And they will know this is true because you took the time to write and also to mail.

Help a Friend with Their Pets

Adopt or Take Care of a Pet

Of course it is not always feasible to adopt a pet, especially if you already have one or two. Why not walk someone's dog for the day, or offer to watch the pet while they go out of town.
