Ways to Decorate your Studio Apartment

The best ways to decorate your studio apartment is to take advantage of all the space; and yet have a lovely living place. Along with making your studio apartment cozy and lovely, you want to have a place for all your necessities, and be able to navigate around freely. Draw a floor plan with scaled measurements to help you decide where everything is going to find a home. Before moving in to the apartment and purchasing furniture take exact measurements with your tape measure, to be sure what you have or what you are going to buy will fit adequately in the given space.

Shelves are geat for storing most things

Storage

Make a list of all the things you don't use on a regular basis and store them in boxes. Purchase some fabric covered boxes, or if you are so inclined you can pick out some decorative fabric and create your own box masterpieces. These boxes will add a decorative touch to your surroundings plus comfortably store all your extra items.

If the studio apartment has a small closet, purchase a closet organizer which will hold your clothes. You may want to store out-of-season clothes in boxes either in a storage facility or a nice friend's house.

If you have a bicycle--hang it on the wall.

Walls and Ceilings

Take advantage of your walls and ceilings. A flat-screen TV can be hung on the wall. Hang wall brackets for lamps to leave extra space on tables and the floor. Hang pictures on the wall for décor and warmth. If you love fresh green plants you can also hang these on the wall. Keep the floor as free as possible so you don't feel crowded and uncomfortable. You can create a living space that gives you a feeling of spaciousness with careful planning.

Odds and Ends

Place a small low cabinet of shelves between the kitchen and living area. You can store things on the shelves ,plus create an interesting room divider. You can even set out food and rinks for company.

Purchase nestling tables that you can bring out when you have company over for pizza and beer. These tables will also serve as end tables and nightstands. Add a vase or magazines on the table to perk up the room and also give you a place for favorite items. You can also use one of these tables for your laptop.

Hang a lot of your towel racks in the bathroom, that will add as a storage place and add a decorative touch to your bathroom. You can hang these towel racks up to the ceiling if you have a lot of towels. If you have space in the bathroom, purchase shelves that fit over the toilet to house your toilet articles and have within reach.

Sofa Beds and Pillows for Studio Apartments

Invest in a sofa bed that will serve your sleeping and lounging needs. Put extra stuff underneath the sofa to use as storage space. Scatter some large pillows around the floor as substitutes for chairs, as you can move them around as you need. People enjoy lounging on floor pillows and it creates a relaxed atmosphere, as well as give the room a decorative touch. Add a colorful throw over the sofa to cozy up with in cooler weather. Taking care of details is one of the best ways to decorate your studio apartment.
